Oman Airports Training Centre gets official  accreditation

Muscat: As an effort to enhance human and professional capabilities in the aviation sector and in the support services divisions, and in line with the endeavours of Oman Airports to achieve its 2025 vision, the training center affiliated with Oman Airports has acquired the official accreditation for the establishment of Oman Airports Training Institute by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation; and The Civil Aviation Authority.


The accreditation of Oman Airports Training Institute was issued after its fulfilment of the conditions of institutional accreditation and its locally approved standards, which is similar to the institute’s obtaining recognition by the local Civil Aviation Authority, in addition to obtaining a number of international accreditations. The institute has recently acquired the international accreditation by the American Heart Association, to become an internationally accredited and independent training institute for providing training and delivering basic life support skills courses, according to the regulations of the American Heart Association, in addition to many related professional accreditations.


These accreditations were accredited in addition to the international accreditations acquired by the institute, including its accreditation as a regional training partner recognized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as well as its accreditation as an approved training institute by the Airports Council International (ACI) as well as its membership in the "TRAINAIR PLUS" program, affiliated to the International Civil Aviation Organization "ICAO". These local and international approvals will enable the Institute to provide highly effective programs and international recognitions through which it can share the experiences of the Institute and the company with other companies operating in the sector, and the regional and international airports.


Hamood Al Hajri, Senior Manager of Training and Development at the company, said: “This recognition is a pivotal point in the activity of the center, as this recognition will open the doors of the center to host international programs in the fields of training, as well as developing competencies in various administrative and technical fields.” He added saying “ The institute aims to enhance the initiatives of human and professional capacity development programs for the company's employees, as well as other employees in various governmental and private sectors, in order to improve the quality of training and qualifying outcomes and practices, enhance their local and international accreditations, and create high-level Omani competencies in order to raise the level of efficiency of institutional operations in the Sultanate of Oman and in the professional and administrative fields.”


Abdullah Al Yafei, Vice President of the Support services Unit added saying, “We will work to provide the necessary knowledge in accordance with the latest international standards in different fields by specialized and professional experts. The institute’s strategy is represented in sustainability, by providing integrated training packages, in order to ensure continuous education and permanent development for all segments of society, in order to meet the needs of the present and keep up with the aspirations of the future.”


It is worth mentioning that the Training Institute was established in 2012 as a center affiliated with Oman Airports, to become a private vocational and administrative training institute that stands by itself under the company's umbrella. It aims to raise the quality of training through high frameworks and standards; to ensure the achievement of training programs and initiatives to the requirements of the labour market, the aspirations
