Muscat: As the Oman Meteorology Office on Monday has forecasted heavy rains with varying intensity between (20-80 mm) over some governorates during the next three days, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has urged citizens and residents to stay cautious.

In an online statement, the ROP has instructed people to take procedures necessary to safeguard their properties and to stay away from places vulnerable to the flow of wadis due to the heavy thunderstorms predicted over today and the next two days.

The ROP also said,” With the weather condition predicted by Met Office, motorists are requested to avoid crossing wadis and risking themselves, calling on them to bear in mind the importance of maintaining safe distance between vehicles while driving in the wet weather”,

Road users are also urged to avoid driving beyond the limits of visibility either due to heavy rains or dust rising.

Meanwhile, the ROP has called on fishermen not to venture into the sea in the event of high waves and strong winds.
