MUSCAT: Singapore Women edged past Oman Women in a last over thriller in the ongoing ACC WT20 Championship 2022.

Both sides put in all they had to register their first win respectively.

Asserting the Oman Women to bat first, Singapore started convincingly claiming three wickets in the first 6 overs of the Oman innings. Priyanka Mendonca was the lone batswoman who kept piling up runs to equalise the pressure onto the opposition.

Bhakti Shetty guarded the ship with her steady and cautious 26 helping Oman reach a respectable 109 at the end of 20 overs. Priyanka finished the innings not out with 48 of 39 balls to ascertain Oman’s interest into choking the Singapore Women.

Oman going in with a play-to-win mindset were successful to uphold Singapore by taking 4 wickets in the first 6 overs. The game was evenly poised before the resistance and positive gameplay of Vinu and Divya build a 68 run to ball partnership taking the game away from Oman.

Saya Channa and Priyanka Mendonca ended with two wickets each accompanied by Bhakti Shetty’s economical spell and a wicket at the end of the game.

Oman currently stands with no wins and a no-result point on the points table playing its next game vs Malaysia on June 22.
