Al Husn Honey, an integrated factory specialising in the processing of various types of Omani honey products, was inaugurated on Wednesday under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd al Said, Secretary General at the Secretariat General for the Council of Ministers. The modern facility is located within the Sandan Industrial City.

HH Sayyid Kamil said the new plant would enhance the reputation of Omani honey globally. “Undoubtedly, this factory produces honey and uses the latest methods in packaging that befits the value of honey in it. In terms of honey export and use, we commend these products and high-end packaging,” he noted.

Dr Mohammed al Maamari, the owner of the factory, explained that the plant has a hourly production capacity of 1,500 bottles of 750-grammes, 2,000 bottles of 350 grammes each, 3,400 bottles of 150 grammes each, and 3,800 bottles of 40 grammes each per month. Additionally, it can churn out 3,800 honey spoons packed with around 7 grammes of honey each.

Commenting on the underlying mission of the project, Dr Al Maamari added: “As an investment in Oman’s industrial sector, Al Hosn Honey will seek to promote Oman’s rare and high quality honey in international markets. Designed and packaged in innovative ways, our products will made ideal gifts, as well as items for individual use. We have also designed luxurious bags and gift boxes featuring an assortment of our luxurious hone products.”

Omanisation at the factory has reached around 90 per cent, he added.
