HM, TANZANIA PRESIDENT HOLD OFFICIAL TALKS

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held an official session of talks with President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania at Al Alam Palace on Sunday afternoon.


The talks explored the strong bilateral relations binding the two countries and ways of elevating them towards broader horizons to realise the aspirations of the Omani and Tanzanian peoples.


The two leaders also exchanged views on various matters of common interest.


The official session of talks was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (Head of the Mission of Honour) and Saud bin Hilal al Shidhani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Republic of Tanzania.

It was also attended from the Tanzanian side by January Yusuf Makamba, Minister of Energy, Dr Pindi Chana, Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Khalid Salum Mohamed, Minister of Works, Transport and Communications, Ambassador Mbarouk Nassoro Mbarouk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Fatma Rajab, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Abdallah Abasi Kilima, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Sultanate of Oman and some Tanzanian officials. — ONA
