'Through Italian Eyes,' a multifaceted art exhibition organised by a well-known couple of Italian artists resident in Oman, Dr Lucia Oliva and Dr Luca Moretti, together with Dr Alessandra Giorda, owner of TV2 Art Gallery, concluded recently.

The exhibition was held at the Crowne Plaza OCEC and was an original art event, which offered a versatile panorama of some Italian artists, each one of them representing a different style, together with the artworks of Lucia.

Shaikh Mahmood bin Harith al Nabhani was the guest of honour at the opening and closing ceremonies.

Dr Lucia, who conceived this unusual art occasion, is well appreciated in the Sultanate of Oman and other Gulf countries.

She and Luca and Alessandra, an Italian opera and art journalist, aim to offer Muscat art lovers an unusual cross-section of contemporary Italian art, hosting artworks of about four artists.

Alina Ciuciu, Fabio Cuffari, Gabriele D'Aloisio and Enrico Tubertini are the four Italian artists who took part with their exhibits and are represented world-wide by the esteemed Giorda, star journalist in the field of Opera, who was recently back from Muscat on the occasion of Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) re-opening for the premiere of Rigoletto last January.

Both the opening as well as the informal closing evening offered guests an original show of historical dance performances, as usual, interpreted by Luca and Lucia with their theatrical and classy virtuosity.

Alina is a gifted artist who demonstrates a mastery of painting in a wide range of styles and unusual, extraordinary topics. Her paintings show a variety of influences, which vary from day-to-day and uses only a 'palette knife', and textures with acrylic 'impasto', which creates an amazing three-dimensional effect.

Fabio says music allowed him to have incredible experiences like visiting all of Italy and getting to know many people, and acquiring a new awareness of himself.

In 2016, he got to learn the pastel painting technique. "I got passionate, and started studying this technique deeply, desiring to specialise it. I crossed the borders of my region, carrying around my teaching methods, presided over by my motto 'you can learn talent'.

Gabriele is a modern self-taught entrepreneur devoted to art. In the scenario of the mountains between hills and countryside, armed with stuccos, spatulas, acrylics, oils and brushes, he confronts a world of infinite stimuli that he reproduces on different materials, where nothing is left to chance and where often the intertwining of materials redistributes order in the chaos of events.

Lucia is an eco-sustainable lifestyle promoter who says, 'Where normal life of an object gets to an end, art begins.' Her unique concept involves mirrors and other accessories to create original scenic set-ups combining sculpture, painting, installation and theatre: artworks that consist in a tangible side and an ethereal one, body and soul of the same entity.

Enrico was fascinated by the use of colours, a passion that he developed considerably in drawing, where warm tones dominate. It was with the approach to the photographic technique that his artistic training evolved.

New events have already been scheduled for the next season by the couple who together with Alessandra always keeps in mind to create and offer the audience multidisciplinary shows, ranging from fine arts, music, mime, dance and more.
