Muscat: As fuel stations are prone to high risks due to the presence of flammable materials, it requires caution on the part of employees as well as the customers.

The inspection teams of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority recorded two cases of violations in 2020 and none last year.

The CDAA has called on motorists to turn off the vehicle's engine during the refuelling process, and not to move the vehicle before making sure that the worker has pulled the fuel hose out of it.

Motorists shall not smoke at filling stations at all times or use mobile phones while driving.

The authority called on fuel marketing companies to train workers on how to deal with any emergency or fire and to abide by the safety instructions.
