

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, on Monday marked the GCC Youth Day, which falls on June 6 each year.
Workers in the youth sector were honoured during the event, alongside 12 successful youth and 30 high performing athletes. The honouring ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Abdullah Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information.
The GCC Youth Day is a testimony to the role of pioneering youth in building nations. It also comes within the framework of activating joint cooperation among the GCC youth to advance societies.
Basil Ahmed al Rowas, Undersecretary for Youth said that marking the GCC Youth Day is an opportunity to promote the role of youth and to celebrate their achievements in various fields. It is also a platform to honour senior leaderships who contributed to the support accorded to youth.
