Muscat: A technology transfer agreement was signed on Sunday between the National Veterinary Vaccines Company and India’s TechInvention company. Memoranda of understanding were also inked with Indian Immunological Limited for Animal Vaccine company and Malaysian Vaccines and Pharmaceuticals company.

The National Veterinary Vaccines Company will set up a factory for the production of veterinary vaccines at Sohar Free Zone (SFZ). The factory will cover local demand and will import to Arab and African countries.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Saud Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Mohammed Obaid al Mazroui, Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID).

The National Company for Veterinary Vaccines is the result of cooperation between the Oman Food Investment Holding Company and the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development to support food security projects in Oman and the Arab world.
