Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by the National Intellectual Property Office, organized a workshop on the national plan for intellectual property, on Wednesday.
The workshop aimed to review the current situation of various intellectual property sectors and propose ways to develop intellectual property services in the Sultanate of Oman. It was attended by a group of innovators, representatives of the private sector, entrepreneurs and stakeholders.
Engineer Khalid bin Hamoud al Hinai, Director of the National Intellectual Property Office, said the intellectual property sector serves various segments of beneficiaries including inventors and innovators, authors, entrepreneurs, owners of small enterprises, emerging institutions and investors from international and local companies.
He stressed that the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion seeks to create institutional integration that focuses on reading the reality of innovation and intellectual property in the Sultanate of Oman in order to develop a strong infrastructure to diversify the government economy and create a dynamic intellectual property ecosystem and align all legislation to Oman Vision 2040.
