The Duqm Refinery project, whose cost exceeds $8 billion is the largest project in the field of refineries and petrochemicals and a 50-50 joint venture between Oman's OQ Group and Kuwait Petroleum International.

The first package is the main processing units of the refinery, the second package includes facilities and services that support the operations of the refinery, while the third package includes storage and export facilities for liquid and bulk petroleum materials in the port of Duqm and crude oil storage facilities for the refinery in Ras Markaz and a 80 km long pipeline for transporting crude oil from Ras Markaz to Duqm Refinery.

When the Duqm Refinery starts its operations, the refining capacity of the Sultanate of Oman will go up by 230,000 barrels of crude oil products per day, covering the daily regional and global needs of various energy products.
