The Directorate General of Education in the Governorate of Dhofar has approved the establishment of nine schools in different wilayats as per the royal directives to establish 76 government schools at the level of the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

Sheikh Yaqoub bin Saif al Shehimi, Director-General of Education in the Governorate of Dhofar, said the schools will be spread over different wilayats seven in the Wilayat of Salalah, four in the Sahlanout area, three in the Awqad region, in addition to a school each in Mirbat and Al Mazyouna.

He said that these schools will cater to 9,540 and will have more than 320 classrooms, in addition to administrative offices, computer rooms, laboratories, sports fields, and other facilities.

He said new projects will help reduce the number of evening schools, which have become a challenge and a burden on the educational process.
