MUSCAT: Barka Champions League's (BCL) second edition of cricket tournament is set for quarterfinals on Friday after completing the group stage fixtures. The 16 overs a-side matches were played every Friday morning across the region (Barka to Muscat).
A total of 40 teams participated in tournament which was divided into four groups of 10 each. Each team in a group played against one another on a round-robin basis and 16 teams played pre-quarter final last week and eight teams qualified for the quarterfinal which will be held on Friday.
In the tournament, many Omani players were included in the teams and played quality cricket. The BCL organising committee urged the Omani players to come forward and participate in cricketing events across the Sultanate of Oman. The organisers thanked all the sponsors, members and supporting staff who worked hard and took the tournament at new heights.
