MUSCAT: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation on Monday organised a seminar on "The Governance of Private Higher Education Institutions in the Sultanate of Oman" under the auspices of Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education,Research and Innovation.
The seminar aimed at disseminating the culture of sound governance in higher education institutions and its role in the quality of education.
The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas and devising visions on the sound governance and rational management of private higher education institutions, in a manner that guarantees transparency and integrity in accordance with national and international standards.
The seminar included a number of working papers on various topics, including governance and management standard in the evaluation process as compared to institutional standards, governance and its role in the quality of higher education and the protection of stakeholders, and the most prominent challenges and solutions for the governance of private higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. -- ONA
