MUSCAT: The 8th Global HSE International Conference and Exhibition on Health, Safety and Environment, will begin on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The 4-day conference is held under the theme ‘HSE Excellence in Leadership, Sustainability and Technology'. The conference will be opened under the auspices of Eng Said bin Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The conference, which is hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, aims to complete the work process in creating a sustainable platform in health, safety and environment and discuss various potential challenges that may face the sector and the local community. It seeks to propose solutions for the protection of workers and the environment.

The conference seeks to shed light on three main pillars: leadership and commitment, use of technology, and sustainability goals that organisations practise in competitive markets while maintaining their ability to meet legal requirements and expectations of local communities.

A number of local and international speakers and experts, technicians, specialists and academics will participate in the conference and the exhibition, to present their experiences in the fields of health, safety and environment.

More than 50 local and internal firms will participate in the exhibition to display the latest technology and expertise related to safety, health and the environment. — ONA
