MARRAKESH: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition Against Daesh held here on Wednesday.

Oman’s delegation was represented by Dr Said bin Mohammed al Barami, the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The meeting explored cooperation and coordination in addressing challenges in the African continent, combating hotspots of terrorist organisations like Daesh and reviewing initiatives to establish stability in the areas impacted with terror attacks and extremism.

The global alliance against Daesh consists of 84 countries and international organisations. It was formed in September 2014 with a mandate to eradicate Daesh. — ONA
