Salalah Airport welcomes Wizz Air

Muscat: With the traditional water salute, Salute Airport welcomed the first Wizz Air flight on Friday. The airline will operate two flights per week right through the Khareef season.

Salalah Airport achieved growth in the number of arriving passengers in the first quarter of this year by 89 percent and departing passengers by 72 percent compared to the same period last year.

Salim bin Awad al Yafei, Executive Vice-President of Salalah Airport, said that Oman airports have implemented all precautionary measures issued by the concerned authorities, which allowed the gradual return of passengers and aircraft movement.


Al Yafei said added that the Khareef season in the Governorate of Dhofar has been witnessing an increase in the number of visitors every year with the launch of airlines flights to Dhofar, as the governorate enjoys pleasant weather between mid-June and the end of September of each year.
