Supreme Committee on COVID-19 issues new decisions

MUSCAT: On the occasion of the blessed Eid Al Fitr, the Supreme Committee for tackling the developments resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, has extended greetings to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, wishing him good health and happiness and the Omani people and residents, the Arab and Muslim population blessing and bounties.


The Supreme Committee tasked with talking developments resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, on Sunday issued the following decisions:


Attending Eid Al Fitr congregational prayers should be restricted to the vaccinated only, unvaccinated people and children under 12 years will not be allowed to attend the prayers.


Abidance by the precautionary measures including wearing a face mask in indoor settings and avoiding handshake and hugging, is mandatory.


Continuation of precautionary measures, social distancing in indoor settings and abidance by health norms when sneezing and coughing.


Continuation of ban on all forms of assembly at public places specially Eid gatherings and mass celebrations.


Ban on wedding parties and condolences at mosques, halls and other public places is still in place.


The Supreme Committee calls on all to commit by its decisions and take all the preventive measures seriously. — ONA
