Muscat: Some parts of the Sultanate, especially Rustaq, are receiving heavy rains as there is a cloud formation over the Al Hajar Mountains and the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman.

There is a possibility of rain, and thunderstorms, accompanied by active downward winds due to the cumulonimbus clouds formed over parts of the governorates of South al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, and Muscat, said Oman Meteorology on Saturday.

"Mainly clear skies over most of the governorates with high clouds advection and the chance of convective clouds development and isolated rain occasionally thundershowers over Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas towards the afternoon," the general bulletin said.

Temperatures in Muscat are likely to be around in the mid-30s today.
