A confident Seeb side are on the right track to claim their second domestic title this season after they defeated Al Rustaq 2-0 on Thursday night for the 21st week of 2021-22 Omantel League.

At Seeb Stadium, the HM Cup champions managed to repeat the win over Al Rustaq as both of them met in the HM Cup champions final on March 17 and the clash ended with the same result for Seeb.

The league match win helped Seeb to strengthen their lead on the top with 47 points. Al Rustaq, runners-up of HM Cup, are still struggling in seventh place with 30 points.

A header from Mohammed Ramadhan put the hosts ahead in the first half while Abdulaziz al Maqbali doubled the result early in the second half to deliver a crucial win for Seeb.

DHOFAR THUMP AL NAHDHA

Salalah giants Dhofar bounced back strongly as they thrashed Al Nahdha 4-0 in the key match of the week at Al Saada Stadium. After two draws in the previous rounds, Rasheed Jaber’s men managed to return back to the second place after the win.

Dhofar added three crucial points to their credit and raised the tally to 43 points in second place while Al Nahdha dropped to third place and remained at 42 points.

Omar al Malki, Yazeed al Mashani (two goals), and Abdullah Fawaz found the target for Dhofar. With five more rounds to go, the forthcoming rounds will be more exciting at the top as Seeb will meet Dhofar and Al Nasr while Al Nahdha will face some teams positioned in the danger zone including Bahla and Muscat.

In the other fixtures, Al Nasr and Sohar played out a 1-1 draw at Salalah Sports Complex. The draw added one point for both teams as Al Nasr raised to 35 points in fifth place while Sohar have 26 points in ninth position.

After completion of 21 rounds, Saham tasted their first win in the league as they defeated Muscat 2-1 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Muscat’s Muadh al Khaldi scored an early goal while Mohammed al Balushi scored two goals for Saham. Despite the victory, Saham remained in the relegation area with 13 points while Muscat are in 10th spot with 19 points.

Bahla suffered a 4-2 loss against Al Ittihad at Nizwa Sports Complex. The defeat raised Bahla's chances to drop into first division as they have 14 points only at 13th place while Al Ittihad moved to 17 points at 11th position.

Nizwa suffered their 12th loss in the league after they slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Al Musannah, while Oman club snatched a 2-1 win over Al Suwaiq at Sohar Sports Complex.
