Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has strongly condemned the burning of copies of the Holy Quran by extremists in Sweden, such acts of provocation to Muslims’ feelings and sanctities, and the incitement to violence and hatred.

The Foreign Ministry in a statement issued on Tuesday stressed the need for international efforts to unite to consolidate the values of tolerance, coexistence, and respect and to criminalize all acts that promote the ideology of extremism and hatred and offend religions and beliefs.
