MUSCAT: The Oman Automobile Association will be holding three separate events at their facilities starting this Wednesday, from Digital Motorsports to Freestyle Drift to the Rotax Max Challenge.
The events will take place in their respective courses at the Muscat Speedway Karting track, the Muscat Drift Arena and the Digital Centre.
The WRC 10 Digital Rally will start the action on April 13 and 14, while a freestyle drift event will be organised on April 15 and Rotax Max Challenge will be staged on April 16.
Free practice in Digital Motorsports is available for contestants everyday at the digital centre except on days for the gaming qualifications and finals.
The freestyle drift competition is expected to be one of the best ever, with more drivers taking part by showcasing their drifting skills on the track.
Freestyle Drift Race Director, Ali al Balushi said: “It’s all about the adrenaline rush that comes from drifting at tight corners with the increasing noise of the car exhausts, the turbo and the engines.
“Of course safety comes first, and all drivers should keep that in mind at all times. We always take extra precautions from our side with checking the cars but the drivers too should do their part by the simple task of putting on the seatbelt.”
Drivers in the Rotax Max Challenge join in to compete and have fun, setting further goals to improve their racing skills.
Muscat Speedway Manager, Sanad al Rawahi said: “Those who love speed, overtaking and competitive battles, this is the right event for them to showcase their driving skills.”
All events will take place at 8 pm and end by 12.30 am with an award ceremony for the drivers.
