ROP foils attempt to smuggle over 150 kilogrammess of drugs

Muscat: The North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police boats and the Royal Air Force of Oman, foiled an attempt to smuggle more than 150 kilogrammes of narcotics by four Asian nationals in partnership with an international gang.


Two suspects were arrested on the beach with the smuggled drugs, while the other suspects were arrested at sea after the smuggling boat was seized.


The amount of narcotics seized in the case amounted to 121 kilogrammes of hashish, 33 kilogrammes of crystal meth, 1 kilogramme of morphine, in addition to 146,850 tablets of psychotropic substances.


Legal procedures have been initiated against them.
