RO 20m vaccines plant to come up in Khazaen

MUSCAT: Khazaen Economic City signed here on Wednesday an agreement for the establishment of a pharmaceutical plant manufacturing biological human vaccines with an investment of RO 20 million.


The promoter is Opal for Biopharmaceuticals Business Company, which is implementing the project on a 37,000 square-metre site at Khazaen.


The agreement was signed by Eng Salim al Thuhli, CEO of Khazaen and Sa’ad Moosa al Junaibi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Opal for Biopharmaceuticals Business.


In a statement, Al Thuhli said the project will be the first vaccines plant in Khazaen Economic City with output targeted at local and international markets. (With inputs from ONA)
