Muscat: Minerals Development Oman (MDO) signed here on Monday a contract with the Canadian company Sander Geophysics to conduct aerial geophysical surveys for the concession areas of MDO (21,480 square kilometres) for a period of two years, starting from May 2022.

The signed programme aims to collect data that helps in identifying rock formations in the concession areas, which will result in producing more accurate geological maps.

The agreement was signed by Eng Nasser Saif al Muqbali, CEO of MDO and Steven Sanders, Chairman of the board of directors of Sander Geophysics.

Al Muqbali said that the agreement will contribute to discovering strategic minerals in Oman and will attract investors in the mining sector.
