French business conference focuses on digital innovation

A business conference titled “Digital Innovation for an Inspiring Future” was organised as part of the fourth edition of the French Week in Oman by the Economic Department of the Embassy of France in association with the Omani French Friendship Association (OFA) recently.


Organised at the Crowne Plaza Muscat under the auspices of Véronique Aulagnon, Ambassador of France to the Sultanate of Oman and Talal bin Said bin Marhoon al Maamari, CEO of Omantel, the “Digital Innovation for an Inspiring Future” conference brought together creative French and Omani companies in order to highlight the positive and concrete progress made possible by digital innovation.


Moderated by IT expert Tariq al Barwani, the first panel discussion focused on “Building an effective industry”, with Air liquide and Veolia explaining first how to deepen smart plant management, TotalEnergies and Engie presenting then how to produce with awareness with an audience of a hundred participants, including heads of institutions and companies in attendance.


The second panel was dedicated to “Becoming an e-consumer”. Idemia, Thawani Pay and Thales shared their know-how about making safety convenient and Otaxi and JCDecaux showcased current and coming improvement of urban experience.


The French Week in Oman is a week-long celebration aimed at promoting the strong ties between the Sultanate of Oman and France. From March 20 to 27, the Embassy of France, with the support of sponsoring companies, has been programming various events in Muscat, including a concert, cultural and scientific events, workshops and conferences.
