The French continue to charm with good food

There's no better way to put it. While the French will forever be known for their romantic accent, Instagram-worthy country and charming people, it's definitely food that is the best ambassador for France anywhere in the world.

As the French in Oman celebrate Gout de France, even French Ambassador to Oman Veronique Aulagnon had to yield to this making food front and centre during the launch of the event at her residence last week. Gout de France runs from November 2 to 12.

The launching showcased some of the best products and dining locations in Muscat and present during the event were some of the big names in the culinary industry representing some of the luxurious hotels and French restaurants in the Sultanate of Oman.

The 6th edition of Gout de France marked the 10th anniversary of the Gastronomic Meal of the French on Unesco's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List.

This year's event is packaged as something that will provide people in the country a glimpse of the local, sustainable, and eco-friendly art of living in France while tapping local produce, producers in its effort for the "renaissance of food."

We recently reached out to Al Marsa Gourmet, one of the emerging high quality provider of some of the most delicious French gourmet food in Oman to share what to them is a good starter pack to learn more about French food as the celebration ends Friday.

Amina Marais, marketing and social media guru from the brand, shared that the key to enjoying French food is knowing where to get the best quality.

She said, "Don't ever underestimate the power of food when it comes to gift-giving. Whether you want to share your city's best bites with a faraway loved one, do something nice for a coworker or a friend, or plan a celebratory evening, a beautifully wrapped treat will win the day."
