Wadi Al Mesqah, one of the tourist spots in the Wilayat of Samayil, is a perennial source of water which feeds artesian wells, aflaj and farms along the valley.

This valley also contributes to maintaining the growth of many plants, herbs and perennial trees in the wilayat. The flora attracts many types of wildlife such as birds, animals and butterflies. The valley is also an important centre for beekeeping and livestock breeding.

On both sides of the valley, one can find the ruins of dozens of archaeological sites such as tombs, houses and walls built of solid stone. These walls are spread over large areas in the heights of the mountains surrounding the valley, and can be easily seen during the exploration trip to the valley.

"These dwellings and homes were in earlier times full of life. People abandoned them after the droughts that the region has suffered for many years, and some of them left these homes after the wave of mass migration that began in the middle of the last century,” residents told the Observer.

"These archaeological sites constitute important evidence for some human settlements in the Wilayat of Samayil, and these sites attract dozens of tourists, especially those coming from Europe, who enjoy examining these sites and trying to find their geological history,” they added.

The exploration trip to this valley requires stamina as the trip takes about two and a half hours of walking between the banks of the valley and the surrounding hills. The valley provides a great opportunity for swimming in some of the pools surrounded by the rock formations.

"There are a lot of tourists who camp in this valley, where they enjoy the tranquility and the beautiful scenery. We ask all tourists to pay attention to the cleanliness of the valley and not to throw waste, given that this valley is a source for the residents of the area," residents said.
