MUSCAT: Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health, said that coronavirus (Covid-19) is still prevalent with the daily caseload starting to rise in many countries around the world.

The minister of health cautioned against non-abidance of precautionary measures and urged people to get the booster dose. He noted that there is definitive evidence that the majority of deaths occurred among people who have not received the booster dose, particularly those who got the second dose six months earlier.

Speaking to Hala FM Radio, the minister noted that the figures in the Sultanate of Oman are satisfactory, but he warned against complacency. “The precautionary measures should not be scrapped or neglected. Besides, vaccination should continue for those who have not taken the second or third dose.”

"Meetings will be held to review the recommendations of the technical team of the Supreme Committee on Covid-19 before the month of Ramadhan'', the minister said.
