

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuous Learning – the Intellectual Education School, marked the International Down Syndrome Day on Monday, under the auspices of Dr Ohoud al Balushi, Vice-Chairperson of Board of Directors of the Children First Association. This year’s celebration came under the slogan “Active Participation and Integration into Society” and took place at Al Saif Complex in Muscat.
The celebration comes in line with the belief of the Ministry of Education in the importance of this group of society and the need to provide support and assistance to them.
The event included exhibitions of student companies, and the inauguration of the “We Will Bloom” initiative. Suad al Habsi, a school activities specialist at the School of Intellectual Education, said: “The “We Will Bloom” initiative contributes to nurturing student talents, empowering them, refining their abilities, and providing a psychological and material atmosphere for them, to achieve adaptation and positive interaction with society, which contributes to improving their psychological state. The initiative also provides them with the necessary care to highlight their faculties and abilities.”
