The Performing Arts Group (PAG), a division of Poetry and Literary Group (PLG), held its 102th session recently and organised an online and offline fashion show in Muscat. This was conducted by the inhouse treasure talent team of PLG poets. Participants from India, Indonesia, Bahrain and Qatar exhibited their online catwalk and floored the audience. Purnima Singh from Muscat was crowned Miss PAG International and took home the winner’s crown.

Second runner up Yasmeen Merchant from Muscat, won the crowning glory and third position was won by Bharti Soni. Smriti Trivedi from Qatar was the winner in the ‘hair and make-up’ category while Fatema Hakim walked away in the ‘overall expressions’ category.

The session was led by Bipin Pandya, Global Vice-President, cultural head, Simmi Kumari, Director of operations, and Ladies event head Sherebanu Akbari who hailed PAG’s role in spreading its creativity portraying latest styles in the fashion industry.

PLG Global President Tufail Ahmad thanked all those who joined in to rock the cradle of PLG for its 102th episode.

The event explored heritage, traditional dresses, chic, and latest trending attire. It was a fabulous show in two categories, put up by PAG with intermission of holistic and yoga talk by Neelanjana Bharadwaj, a popular health and fitness weekly writer from Bahrain.

A video presentation and interactive talk show with the audience highlighted the aspects of good health providing a healthy mix of energising knowledge and entertainment.

Fashion expert and garment designer Rashmi Sathe from Mumbai judged the beauty pageant. She had taken part in New York fashion week and Columbia fashion week. Rashmi had worked as a costume illustrator and designer with Neeta Lula for period film ‘Jodha Akbar’ which won the National award for costume design.

A question and answer round by the judge heightened the excitement.

The first three finalists took part in the question and answer round. The couple's category saw a tie between Sanjay Tiwari, Rashmi Mansinghani with Sarwat and Monawar. The ultimate winning couple was the well-deserved Yusuf and Farida Baramati. ‘Best pose and styling’ was bagged by Yasmeen and Huzefa Merchant. Simmi Kumari delivered the vote of thanks.
