Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah), at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday.

Signed by Tahir Salim al Amri, CBO’s Executive President, and Eng Tarik Ali al Amri, be’ah’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this MoU opens new horizons for cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of Sustainability and Circular Economy.

The MoU includes cooperation in the field of green finance, investments in Environmental, Social, and Governance fields (ESGs), supporting Financial Technology (FinTech) focused SMEs through platforms such as be'ah's hosted Eco-Innovate Oman as well as other related matters in circular economy.

The agreement also includes conducting awareness sessions and professional development programs through be’ah Academy, the capacity building arm of the Center for Sustainability and Circular Economy as well as initiating collaborations between both parties in the fields of green finance and other educational and professional courses presented by the Centre to CBO and the financial institutions under its supervision.

This MoU was singed on the sidelines of CBO’s participation in the Oman Sustainability Week being held from March 13-17, 2022.
