Omani Assn for Intellectual Property signs MoU with WIPO

The Omani Association for Intellectual Property (OAIP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), within context of current visit of OAIP’s delegation to Geneva, Switzerland to attend the current session of WIPO’s meetings.


The MoU was signed from OAIP’s side by lawyer Dr Ali bin Khamis al Alawi, Chairman of OAIP, while it was signed from WIPO’s side by Hassan Kulayeb, Deputy Director General at the Regional and National Development Sector of WIPO.


The MoU aims at enhancing the objectives of the two sides in terms of raising awareness of the importance of intellectual property, promoting innovation, exchanging expertise and knowledge on intellectual property related-issues, enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the field of intellectual property rights, raising awareness on intellectual property and protecting its rights as well as rendering education and training in such a field, due to the value and significance of intellectual property rights.
