Muscat: Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy, has awarded the Italy Star Order, with a knight’s rank, to Talal Sulaiman al Rahbi, Deputy Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit.

The medal was conferred on Al Rahbi by Federica Favi, Ambassador of Italy to the Sultanate of Oman, at a ceremony held at the embassy’s premises here on Thursday.

The ambassador hailed Al Rahbi’s role in consolidating bilateral relations between Italy and the Sultanate of Oman in the economic field, deriving impetus from his previous position as Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning.

Through his previous post and current position as Deputy Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit since 2020, Al Rahbi influenced the success of bilateral forums and activities of Oman-Italy Joint Commission in 2017, as well as the Rome-based Middle East dialogue forums, she said.
