TOP TT DESTINATION

Abdullah Bamakhalif, Oman Table Tennis Association (OTTA) chairman, affirmed that Oman is among the top destinations for hosting major TT events. “We are very glad with the success of WTT Contender Muscat 2022 with more than 200 participants representing 41 countries from different parts of the world. The appreciation and recognition received from the top officials at WTT and ITTF (World TT governing body) is a great honour for OTTA team,” he added

The prestigious TT tournament ended in Muscat after an excited seven days of competitions during Feb 27 until March 5 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Stadium.

“ We did not expect participation of these number of paddlers but it exceeded our expectations. Normally, the paddlers will take part in any event depending on different factors including the quality of the tournament, top facilities provided to them and beside that the accommodation and transport logistics. OTTA team is well experienced now after hosting a series of regional and international TT top class events. After delivering a very high level tourney, we are in a place to raise our efforts for hosting the World Veteran Championships in 2023 at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center. In that event, we are expecting a participation of more than 5000 paddlers,” OTTA chairman added.

The OTTA chief ended his remarks with a special thanks to all the media and strategic partners for their continuous support.
