Exciting action concludes at Al Rayyan Showjumping competition

Muscat: The Al Rayyan Showjumping Competitions held under the supervision of the Oman Equestrian Federation, and organized by Al Rayyan Stables, owned by Sheikh Khalid bin Saeed Al Wahaibi, concluded at Al Rahba field in Barka over two days.


More than 100 horses participated in the event from government units and private stables. They were divided into five categories per day, beginners category, 90-95 cm height, category (E) with height 100-105 cm, category (D) 110-115 cm height, category (C) height 120-125 cm, and category (B) height 130-135.


In the first day, in the Beginners category with 90-95 cm height, 27 horses participated. Vanida Shahboub on ‘Simba’ from the Olympic Equestrian Center won the first place, the second place was taken by Ibrahim Al-Sidrani on ‘a jewel’ from the armored vehicles, and the third place was bagged by Khalfan Al-Hatali on ‘Tahadi’ from Royal Cavalry.


Category (E) 100-105 cm


Here 28 horses competed in this level, Muhammad bin Salem Al Hadrami won the first place on ‘Robin’ from the Royal Cavalry. The second place was taken by Qassim bin Muhammad Al Farsi on ‘Sahwah’ from the Royal Oman Police, and the third place was Ahmed Al Shahat on ‘Joshi’ from Mojo Equestrian


Category (D) 110-115 cm


In the Category D 110-115 cm level, 14 horses participated, where Khaled bin Darwish Al-Subhi won the first place on ‘Charming Geal’ from Al Rayyan Stables. The second place was bagged by Muhammad bin Salem Al Hadhrami on ‘Thekryat’ from the Royal Cavalry, and the third place was taken by Jamal bin Humaid Al Sharyani on ‘I gayen’ of the Royal Guards Omani.


In the Category B 130-135 cm, three horses participated, Ahmed Muhammad Al-Shahat clinched the first place on ‘Chanel’ from the Mojo Equestrian Center. The second place was Hamoud bin Sultan Al-Tawqi on ‘Talbot’ from the Olympic Equestrian Center, and the third place was by Sultan bin Hamoud Al-Touqi on the ‘Hang over’ from the Olympic Equestrian Centre.



Second Day


On the second day, in the Beginners category of 90-95 cm, 27 horses participated with Ibrahim Al-Sidrani claiming the first place on ‘a jewel’ from the armored. The second place was Vanida Shahboub on ‘Simba’ from the Olympic Equestrian Center and the third place was bagged by Issa Al-Subhi on ‘Hamran’ from the Royal Cavalry.


Category (E) 100-105 cm


In the Category E 100-105 cm, there were 28 horses that competed in this category and the first place was clinched by Madin bin Saeed Al-Yousifi on ‘Wadud’ from the Royal Cavalry.


The second place was bagged by Bassam bin Nasser Al-Ghabshi, ahead of ‘Falah’ from the Royal Oman Police and Jamal bin Humaid Al-Sheryani ‘Tawfan’ of the Royal Guard of Oman settled for the third place.


In the Category (D) 110-115 cm, 14 horses also participated in this category, where Muhammad bin Salem Al-Hadrami won the first place on ‘Thekryat’ from the Royal Cavalry.


The second place was Haider Al-Rashed on ‘Qwaidam’ from the Arabian Stables, and the third place was taken by Hammoud bin Sultan Al-Tawqi over ‘Daneen’ from the Olympic Equestrian Center.


Category (C) 120-125 cm


In the Catgeory (C) 120-125 cm, Ahmed Muhammad Al Shahat won the first place out of eight horses on ‘Fernand’ from the Mojo Equestrian Center. The second place was taken by Hammoud bin Sultan Al Toqi on ‘Filo’ from the Olympic Equestrian Center, and the third place was Sheikh Khalid bin Saeed Al Wahaibi on the ‘Albay’ from Al Rayyan Stables.


Class (B) 130-135 cm


In the Category B 130-135 cm, three horses participated in the competition with Ahmed Muhammad Al-Shahat clinching the first place on ‘Chanel’ from the Mojo Equestrian Center. The second place was Sultan bin Hamoud Al-Toqi on the ‘Hang over’ from the Olympic Equestrian Center and the third place was Khaled Darwish Al-Subhi on the ‘Perfect Z’ from Rayan stables.
