Omani horse 'Rajeh' owned by Basil al Kasbi created history when Antonio Friso rode 'Rajeh' to victory in the second round of the Al Maktoum Challenge Cup.
'Rajeh' made the achievement in the first category for purebred Arabian horses at the Meydan track at Dubai World Cup over a distance of 1,900 metres.
Rajeh, rode by Friso, was coached by Mosbeh al Muhairi.
The achievement is considered as the first victory for Omani owners in the first category in the classic Dubai race.
Al Kasbi bought ‘Rajeh’, which is 5 years’ old from Al Shahaniya Stable in Qatar, and participated in the Qatar International Cup and Qatar Golden Sword.
Then he transferred it to the UAE to prepare for the great classic runs, starting with Dubai Free Stakes in which he won the third place. In the second participation Rajeh emerged champion, with a difference of more than 6 lengths from the runner-up, and to become one of the candidates to win the Kahila Classic.
