SALALAH: The Craft Training Centre of the Royal Court Affairs in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, has been set up as an institution that spreads awareness about traditional crafts.

The centre preserves craft industries peculiar to the governorate and trains instructors to transfer knowledge about making such articles to future generations.

The centre was established as per the royal directives of late Sultan Qaboos.

The centre was established in 1985 in the area that was at that time called Al Rabat School.

The centre seeks ways to provide necessary skills to students to prepare them to practise as artisans and earn income on their own. — ONA
