HM confers Oman Civil Order on King of the Belgians

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik hosted an official luncheon at Al Alam Palace on Thursday in honour of Phillippe Leopold Louis Marie, King of the Belgians on the occasion of his visit to the Sultanate of Oman.


Prior to the luncheon, His Majesty the Sultan conferred the Oman Civil Order, 1st Class, on Phillippe Leopold Louis Marie, King of the Belgians, as an embodiment of His Majesty the Sultan’s appreciation for the King of the Belgians and the deep bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.


His Majesty the Sultan and the King of the Belgians exchanged commemorative gifts in the presence of Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman and Mathilde Marie Christine Ghislaine d’Udekem d’Acoz, Queen of the Belgians.


His Majesty the Sultan presented the King of the Belgians with an Omani sword, while the King of the Belgians presented His Majesty the Sultan a piece of art which represents the Belgian cultural heritage.


The luncheon was attended by members of the Royal Family, Chairmen of the State Council and Shura Council, some ministers and senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and Oman Royal Police (ROP).
