Muscat: Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Sunday held its first meeting in 2022, under the chairmanship of Shaikh Abdullah Shuwain al Hosni, OHRC chairman.
The meeting discussed topics submitted by the sub-committees, OHRC annual plan for 2022, and the schedule of field visits to Royal Oman Police (ROP) detention centres.
During the meeting, the commission reviewed the programme of awareness and educational lectures to protect children from negligence and abuse which is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Omani Women's Associations.
The meeting also discussed a number of other issues related to human rights in the Sultanate of Oman. --ONA
