MUSCAT: The latest analysis of numerical weather charts and satellite images shows that the Sultanate of Oman will be affected by fresh northwesterly winds from Thursday evening and will continue for several days. Northwesterly fresh wind between 15-30 knots is expected to blow over the Sultanate of Oman causing moderate to rough sea over the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman and Musandam western coastal areas overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Wave height may reach up to 4 meters. There is a possibility of low and poor horizontal visibility due to dust and rising wind especially in open areas and deserts. Air temperatures could drop between (5 to 8°C) compared to the current rate. The Civil Aviation Authority advises all to take precautions especially fishermen and drivers due to expected rough sea state and poor visibility. — ONA
