Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has taken action against violations of the Land Transport Law.

The violations committed included overloading of trucks, absence of vehicle operating cards, and engaging in land transport activities without a license from the ministry.

It also included violations by foreign land transport operators, which include indulging in transportation business between two points inside the Sultanate of Oman without a permit or staying in the Sultanate of Oman for a period exceeding seven days without a permit.

MTCIT said that the inspection was to ensure compliance with the executive regulations of the Land Transport Law and its executive regulations, reduce hidden trade, and encourage the use of safe public transportation.
