NLG appoints new chief operating officer

MUSCAT: As part of company’s business excellence and growth strategy, National Life & General Insurance Co SAOG (NLG) has appointed Dr Dhafir Awadh al Shanfari as the Chief Operating Officer. He has held leadership positions in various government organizations and was the CEO of the Public Authority for Privatisation and Partnership before joining NLG.


Dr Al Shanfari has an MBA Degree from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, USA and PhD from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia and was also associated with SQU as Head of Management Department from the College of Economics and Political Science.


“I am delighted to welcome Dr Dhafir Awadh al Shanfari to the NLG family and I am sure we are going to benefit immensely from his vast experience. With his academic excellence, his experience in various sectors, handling leadership roles across multiple functions, I eagerly look forward to him as a core contributor to the growth of the organization,” said S Venkatachalam, CEO of NLG.
