Al Azhar to play in fourth tier of Spanish football league

Muscat: Al Azhar bin Hamza al Balushi will be one of the Sultanate of Oman football stars who will play in the fourth tier of the Spanish football league.


Al Balushil, who traveled to Spain on Monday, will represent Spain’s Sant Andreu club in the league. The team is currently in seventh place and possesses 26 points. The Spanish team played in the league's 17 fixtures and registered eight victories, two draws and suffered seven losses.


The 20 year-old had a professional development footballing experience programme at Spain’s Sant Andreu club in coordination with Spain Academy and Sports Business Company.


The player unveiled about the program in a press conference in last November in presence of Naseem Kamil, Director of Spain Academy, Abdullah al Balushi, Sports Business Company and Oman Football Association (OFA) representatives.


The selection of former Al Shabab and Seeb player came after his top show with the Olympic football team in Turkey camp. Al Azhar affirmed in his previous statement that he aims to gain more footballing experience and developing my technical abilities and capabilities. “I am confident this experience will remain in my sporting football and I will do the best to accomplish all the desired outcomes to benefit my national football team,” he ended.


Al Azher al Balushi, 20-year-old, began his footballing career in Al Shabab club and then moved to Seeb. He is playing in the Olympic national football team as key players of the team.
