MUSCAT: The Oman Sailing Festival brings fun and excitement as it rolls into Hawana Salalah from January 6-9.
For two days, visitors to the destination will be able to try sailing and windsurfing with Oman Sail coaches for free from 10am to 5pm each day.
Ali al Shuhaimi, Centre Manager of Al Mouj Sailing School and project manager of the Oman Sailing Festival, said, “The Oman Sailing Festival has been incredibly popular up and down the coastline so far with people of all ages reconnecting with Oman’s maritime history and trying the sport for the first time. Now we are heading south to Salalah and look forward to sharing the thrill of being on the water with crowds at Hawana Salalah.”
Karim Boushra, Hawana Salalah Destination Director said, “Everyone at Hawana Salalah is looking forward to welcoming the Oman Sailing Festival to the destination. We have hosted several stages of Sailing Arabia — The Tour in the past and having the chance to try sailing and windsurfing, for free, is an opportunity not to be missed.
The beaches at Hawana Salalah are the perfect setting for Salalah locals, residents at the destination and visitors to learn how to sail and windsurf in our wonderful clear blue seas.”
To date, the Oman Sailing Festival has welcomed over 2,000 visitors at stops across the country.
After wrapping up in Salalah, the festival will visit Duqm for the final stop from January 12-15, 2022.
The Oman Sailing Festival is supported by platinum sponsor OQ, gold sponsors Oman Air and Salsabeel, and environmental partners Be’ah, the Environment Society of Oman and the host venue in Hawana Salalah.
