MUSCAT: Star all-rounder Khawar Ali found the batting form with a regal 86 off 40 to help Darsait Titan thrash Ghubrah Giants by 8 wickets in a D20 Super 4 clash at Oman Cricket Turf 1 in Amerat on Wednesday.

Darsait faces table-topper Ruwi Rangers in the final.

Ghubrah failed to post an imposing total on the board, managing to reach only 132 for 9 which Darsait surpassed in only 11.1 overs, scoring 135 for 3 thanks to Khawar’s top knock.

Brief Scores (D20): Ghubrah Giants 132 for 9 in 20 overs (Mohammed Imran 32 – 2x4, Ubaid Ullah 2-18, Sachin Kumar 2-23, Ahmad Fayyaz 2-30) lost to Darsait Titans 135 for 2 in 11.1 overs (Khawar Ali 86 – 8x4, 6x6) by 8 wickets.

Khushi stars in another Ruwi win

In the day’s second match, Ruwi Rangers rode on Muhammed Naseem Khushi’s 13-ball 35 not out to beat Qurum Thunders by 4 wickets and end Qurum’s quest to reach the final.

Fantastic fifties by Ayaan Khan (59 off 38) and Jatinder Singh (56 off 41) were the highlights of Qurum’s 165 for 5 in 20 overs. Muhammed Nadeem grabbed 2 for 33.

Ruwi were in a spot of bother at 117 for 4 in 16 overs, requiring 49 in four overs but Khushi’s arrival changed the course of the game as he sealed a sensational win with a superb six off Munis Ansari with three balls to spare in the final over. Oman all-rounder Sandeep Goud was the pick of Qurum bowlers, taking 4 for 30.

Brief Scores (D20): Qurum Thunders 165 for 5 in 20 overs (Ayaan Khan 59 – 4x4, 2x6, Jatinder Singh 56 – 7x4, 2x6, Muhammed Nadeem 2-33) lost to Ruwi Rangers 167 for 6 in 19.3 overs (Zohaib Amanat 40 – 4x4, 2x6, Mohammed Naseem Khushi 35 – 5x6, Gustav Burger 30 – 4x4, Sandeep Goud 4-30) by 4 wickets.
