Heavy rains expected tonight, tomorrow

MUSCAT: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a warning of heavy rains ranging between 30 mm to 80 mm on Monday night and Tuesday.


The CAA said heavy rains are expected on Monday night and Tuesday in the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiya.


The CAA advised all to exercise caution during rainfall and thunder showers and not to cross running wadis, to avoid low-lying areas and not to venture into the sea.



The wilayats of Khasab, Bukha and Daba in Musandam Governorate witnessed heavy downpours associated with strong wind on Monday. On Monday morning, the Wilayat of Bukha witnessed heavy rains centred on the villages and the mountainous areas causing overflow of wadis.


Cloudy conditions prevailed over much of the Sultanate of Oman with south-easterly wind that lasted for hours in Muscat Governorate and some other wilayats.
