Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion called upon all commercial and industrial establishments to abide by the precautionary measures set to curb the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and the decisions issued by the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling the developments resulting from Covid-19.

The Ministry urged all commercial establishments to cut down the number of visitors to their outlets by 50% of the total capacity of each outlet. The establishments are also required to see to their customers’ compliance with all precautionary measures, including wearing face masks and observing the 2-metre physical distance.

Commercial outlets have to sanitize shopping trolleys and surfaces, provide the customers with sterilizers and ask them to show the two-dose vaccination certificate, among other precautions, said the Ministry in a statement issued on Monday, noting that its teams will intensify checkups on commercial and industrial activities to ensure compliance.

The Ministry encourages customers to benefit from electronic apps provided by commercial outlets to avoid crowdedness. In the meantime, the Ministry urges the owners of commercial centres, restaurants and workers in home delivery services to endorse protective mechanisms to help protect public health. --ONA
