Muscat: The Esnad Institute has launched a training programme for Omanis in the field of driving heavy trucks.

The programme aims to qualify Omani cadres and develop their capabilities as heavy truck drivers to meet the needs of the labor market in the land transport sector under Oman Vision 2040.

The program includes tests on the road over a period of 720 training in 6 months for the target age group of 21 years to 45 years.

The Abdullah bin Yaqoub al Rahbi, Executive Director of the Esnad Institute for Training Truck Drivers and Equipment, said that the program seeks to bring the trainees to the profession of driving heavy trucks and familiarize them with the rules, precautionary measures related to the maintenance of the truck and other technical aspects such as changing tryes and using fire extinguishers.

Drivers are also responsible for the safe delivery of goods that are loaded in the trucks as per traffic and land transport regulations.
