Al Musannah stun Dhofar; Al Rustaq edge Nizwa

Dhofar tasted the first defeat in the league as Al Musannah defeated Salalah giants 3-0 on Wednesday for the sixth week of Omantel League.


At Al Rustaq Sports Complex, Bersini Luko put Al Musannah team ahead in the 44th minute while Naseeb al Ghilani added the second goal in the following minute.


The hosts ended the first half leading with 2-0. In the second half, Hamood al Saadi confirmed the southern Batinah team’s triumph as he netted the third goal in the 72nd minute.


With the victory, Al Musannah crossed Dhofar and reached the 13th points while Salalah giant freezed at 11th point.


Al Rustaq stunned Nizwa 3-0 at the latter’s home in Nizwa Sports Complex. Abdulrahman al Ghassani, Yousef al Mamari and Khalil al Alawi netted the goals for the guests.


The hosts Nizwa still did not register any victory in the league and the team players did not score any goals. Rustaq’s win took them to 10 points while Nizwa are still struggling in the below table order with two points only.


Sohar snatched a crucial 2-0 win over Al Ittihad at Al Saada Sports Complex. Mubarak al Maqbali was the star of the match as he scored the winners in the 31st and 82nd minutes.


The triumph raised Northern Batinah team to seven points while Al Ittihad remained at the danger zone with three points only.


Al Nahdha and Bahla ended their match in a goalless draw at Al Buraimi Sports Complex. The Al Buraimi representative missed a golden opportunity as Al Nasr was held to a draw.


Al Nahdha’s draw raised them to 11 points while Bahla possesses nine points.


Saham registered their fourth draw in the league as they held Al Nasr to a goalless draw at Sohar Sports Complex.


Both teams did not manage to score in the match and the draw kept Al Nasr in the 13th position while Saham at 4th position.
